Translating to “the spirits within him” in Bassa language, this is the native tribal tongue of George’s mother. A painting made of two panels, each represents our “second self” - an alter ego of sorts that represents the inner works of an individual. With contrasting faces, one uses his voice while the other chooses to stay silent, each focused on the same thing yet their interpretations and expressions are completely different. Everyone contains a persona within themselves and it is up to you whether you would like to show that to the world. There is the face you put on for the world, and the face you put on for yourself and your true being.
